An Outbuilding Gets A Face Lift And Becomes Roly House

Glass addition to the Roly House

This is one of the most innovative renovations I have ever seen. What used to be an old outbuilding has been transformed into a luxurious bed and breakfast in Belgium. The bones and original brick work has been preserved and are wholly visible but small touches of the modern have been added to enhance this building’s personality and charm. A mezzanine was added by inserting steel sheets into the existing structure, these steel sheets continue outside to form the roof of an addition. That addition is enclosed entirely in glass, which adds space and brings the expansive surroundings closer.
