The Pohutukawa Beach house situated in Auckland, New Zealand, has won numerous awards for its design and architecture. Architecture firm, Herbst Architects designed the house so that from a distance it resembles a naturally occurring part of the landscape.
The expansive surroundings are brought closer by the floor to ceiling windows, making the house feel alive with the unique light found at sea side sites.
Unlike the usual beach side decor, Pohutukawa was decorated with earthy colours and natural textures, from the cow hide rug to the bird-cage lampshades making the interior just as relaxing and inviting as the exterior.
