In most parts of the world, when you walk down the road past corporate housing, you don’t expect to see gilt window frames. You don’t expect to see gilt anything. But in Helsingborg, Sweden, that is exactly what you will see when you come upon the housing project designed for HSB Nordvästra Skåne.
The upper end housing is situated just north of Helsingbog and has generous apartments with a clear view onto the seaway (sound) between Sweden and Denmark, Öresund. Denmark is visible on the horizon.
The housing consists of two houses, both with six stories and fourteen apartments (nine of them duplex) in total, one hundred to one hundred and seventy square meters of floor space. Glossy white enamelled façade panels and gold leaf-plated cast aluminium window frames.
Date of design: 2008-2009.
