The house Sou Fujimoto built is like nothing you have ever seen. Named “House NA”, its minimalist construction certainly stands out in Tokyo. House Na looks like something out of a fairytale, designed for a couple, the house’s transparent exterior walls contrast sharply with the concrete jungle that surrounds it.
The steel frame and glass panels give the house lightness and finesse, while its 21 platforms at varying heights invite family members to use the space. The stairs and platforms are multi-purpose, they can be used as chairs, desks or simply as a place to interact with other members of the family.
The house could be seen as a tree where each platform is a branch, a single entity with many parts.
