Vennesla Library, Norway

There is nothing like a well designed library to make you want to stay till closing time reading a good book. I love libraries like I love baked goods and the Vennesla Library is up there with a chocolate ganache covered chocolate chip brownie, delicious. It’s beautiful, light and the inside has all sorts of nooks and crannies where if you are smart enough, you can spend hours, whiling away the time.

The curved undulating ceiling of Vennesla Library is made of twenty-seven prefabricated, glue-laminated, timber “ribs” and was designed by Helen + Hard. Around the edges of the book shelves are comfortable reading niches and seating for studying.
