The Bear, written by Ryan Sohmer and illustrated by Becky Dreistadt, is the second volume in a set of books for parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters and children. The colourful art attracts and keeps the child’s attention, while adults take in the heartfelt words that goes with it.
Zev is a 14 year old photographer from Natick, Massachusetts who creates incredible self portraits. The photographs are taken with the help of his 17 year old sister Nellie, and manage to capture his amazing imaginary world. The photographs show him exploring a more complicated world than a strict fairy tale. A world where the dangers are almost familiar but much larger than we expect.
Eric Standley has released a paper cut artwork project that is so intricate that it looks like stained glass cathedral windows. The laser cut paper consists of individually cut layers of paper that are laid on top of each other, giving the work a three dimensional look. [Read more...]
Berlin-based and Lithuanian-born artist, Paulius Nosokas, views spam email in a unique way. Instead of seeing spam emails as an annoyance, something to be discarded as soon as possible, he sees spam email as a kind of “virtual social arena”. Something best re-purposed into art.
Using just packing tape and a scalpel, Max Zorn creates amazingly realistic portraits. Max has taken such a normal everyday item, brown packing tape, and elevated it to an art medium. His truly creative mind uses layers of the packing tape to create light and shade, the same way an artist would use charcoal.
