In Liège, Belgium Dethier Architects have done a total renovation of an industrial space in to the Kempart Loft. The space was originally an abandoned industrial bakery and the loft was turned into a living space for a couple with no children.
After all the old, unnecessary elements were removed, the architects had a clean 154 sq. m of open area to work with. They then installed the rounded modular unit that was inspired by the Airstream trailer’s aerodynamic look. Within the unit were hidden two bathrooms, a utility room and heating and ventilation systems.
The interior of this modular unit was painted orange and green to contrast with the otherwise monochromatic space. Belgian artist Jean Glibert was responsible for the saturated colours in the bathrooms.
