Catalonias Passive Sun-Aware Pavillion

In Barcelona at the Olympic Port, there has sprung a very strange structure. It is an ingeniously designed pavilion that was made for the very spot it occupies. The sun’s seasonal path was mapped and all of the pavilion’s odd angles were purposefully calculated so that the sun hits  the solar panels at the optimum angle.

Even the windows were planned so that as much light filters in from outside but allows no direct sunlight during the hot summer months and plenty of light during dull winter months.

The pavilion was constructed in pre-fabricated pieces so that it only took 2 weeks for actual construction, where everything was slotted together like a 3D puzzle.
