With the world now supporting a population of over seven billion people, someone has to think about whether our earth can handle the strain. Will we be able to handle food production with the deforestation to make space for all the new people? One of the results of deforestation and a major hindrance to food production is lack of drinkable water. But according to Edward’s theory, there is always a certain amount of water in the atmosphere and he has found a simple low tech way of harvesting that water through and application of science.
Edward Linacre‘s Air Drip Irrigation system managed to get the Highly Commended prize in the James Dyson Awards.
