How Do You Bag Your Stuff?

These reuseable Basmati Bags are great totes for shopping or as a carry all onto the plane.

Sometimes we just love what comes through our letter box at Funchkins and a few months back we received a nice little surprise…..a grocery bag by Basmati Bags.

Now let me tell you, I’ve counted the number of plastic shopping bags I’ve come home with, you’d be amazed at just how many I managed to accumulate in the short space of 1 week. I’ve also tried to keep track of how many times I’ve remembered to buy paper bags instead of plastic. While I admit that there are more times that plastic has followed me home, I do know that the times I have purchased paper I have done the environment a small favour.

That then got me thinking, we all know plastic is bad, unless of course it is the bio-degradable kind, paper is better, but lets face it if I had to pay say 30c for every bag at the end of the month I could end up paying a small fortune, what is the best way to get your shopping home?

Zippered side pocket for valuables Roomy inside pocket big enough to act as an overnight bag or a shopping bag.

The answer my friends, Re-Usable Shopping Bags, (yes I know you know that, I was just going for a little drama). There are literally hundreds of different styles available out there, but I was looking for something that in actual fact didn’t look like a grocery bag, it had to be versatile but stylish & perhaps a little unusual too.

Introducing the Basmati Bag that arrived on our desk – beautiful tote crafted from rice bags! They measure 12″ x 16″ x 5″, with shoulder straps 22″ in length, which means that the bag hangs 11″ down from the shoulder. They don’t shed, and are always the first thing we grab on our way out the door for shopping.

Richard, the man who started Basmati Bags, LLC is a choreographer and tap dancer and was looking for a carry-all that could hold his dance things, snacks and groceries as comfortably as possible. So low and behold he came up with Basmati Bags, he has even told us that has used them on his flights around the country!

So If you are looking for something cool and different, pop on over to the Basmati Bags website and  for $17 plus $3 shipping you can have your very own!
