iBamboo Speakers for iPhone 4

I absolutely love bamboo, if I could get it into everything I would…unfortunately this makes me a bit of a kook to normal people (what’s new?) although when I tell them that it’s related to grass (not the grass you smoke) they look at me kinda weird, they don’t believe me.

But enough of that, it’s always a pleasure to meet people striving to change the world, and with his bamboo, electricity- free speaker, Anatoliy Omelchenko has gotten a start on doing just that.

My goal is to create functionally and aesthetically simple devices that can become eco-friendly substitutes to the devices we use today. Taking the simplicity of nature, I design these objects so that they require little resource and energy to create. By optimizing the utilization of the resources, little waste is produced, and makes future recycling easier and more efficient. This approach to design can save a lot of natural resources that are now being depleted by industry. These are objects of the future, and I hope that more people follow on the path to creating a sustainable, eco-friendly planet.”, Anatoliy Omelchenko

The fact that it’s electricity-free, makes the iBamboo speaker highly portable, limiting the play time to that of your battery life.

Because the material each speaker is made from is natural, it is highly unique and individual, but each is carved to accommodate the iPhone using naturally occurring characteristics of the bamboo pieces.
