If you think of all the batteries made over the last 100 years, I think we would be amazed at the staggering amount used and thrown away. Just to put things into perspective, this year we have used 3 billion in the US alone! And here’s a sobering thought, most alkaline batteries that we currently use go straight to the dump and eventually end up in the environment. This then affects our health while also having a bad environmental impact on other lifeforms we co-exist with.
Now I know rechargeables are a better option but once again at the end of their life span they head straight to the dump and again become toxic waste, so no real gain. So seeing a gap in the market and also looking at ways to improve the environment, enter the earthCell Battery.The earthCell batteries are a new type of battery technology called low self-discharge nickel metal hydride (LSD NIMH). The great thing is that these batteries last a very long time and when do finally give up the ghost, the company also leaves an envelope for you to post the battery back to them.
