Italians are very well known for their award-winning design, so when Studio di Progettazione revealed their Cradle Belly in 2007, gasps of wonder were released every where. The Culla Belly is designed to maximize the closeness of mother and child as well as work into her super busy day by going from a cradle that attaches to the bed to a free standing cradle that can be used in the lounge and kitchen of the house. The design won first prize at the Playing Design’s International Design competition for children’s design and has been so successful because research has proven that the closer mother and child are kept during the first few months of life, the better the chances the child matures into an independent individual.
The designer baby cradle was designed by Manuela Busetti and Andrea Garuti of Studio di Progettazione. This bassinet is now for sale on through Italian company Pam Baby and on the Culla Belly website or you can find something similar on Amazon.com.
