In the centre of Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world and overlooked by the famous Table Mountain sits Charly’s Bakery. Charly’s Bakery is a business started by a family because of their love of feeding people, it has moved around through the years, to finally end up on Canterbury street where they serve up tasty tarts, creepy cakes and cupcakes to die for. The family’s inspiring story is now a reality series on South African local television that follows Charly’s Cake Angels and their Oopa Loompas, as their staff have been nicknamed. A word of warning, their fare is supposed to be dangerously addictive, you might end up changing life plans just to be able to patronize this little piece of baking heaven in Cape Town.

The entire wedding was moved from Norway to South Africa just because of Charly’s wedding cakes, plus they have done cakes for Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Oprah. The Charly’s Cake Angels show is produced by South African chef, Justin Bonello‘s production company Cooked in Africa.
