On a trip to Costa Rica in 2009, using a glut of unused vacation days, Anna Jerstrom decided to try out surfing. The decision changed the direction of her life, she decided to give up her life as an investment banker in Sweden and move to Costa Rica to become a surfer.
This decision also highlighted a problem that she found with swimwear, commercially available bikinis didn’t stand up to the pounding dealt out by the surf. So she decided to develop swimwear and form a company that produced swimwear that would stay on no matter what. That company is Calavera Swimwear.
