The UP uses an iPhone app that enables you to track what foods make you feel better or worse, reminds you to be more active in your daily lives and it can be programmed to vibrate at the best time in your sleep cycle to wake you up. So no more eating badly, waking up to a noisy alarm clock or getting sick because of a lack of activity while we are at work.
I have always loved the idea of having a robot with human like features doing errands around the house. Then after seeing the Terminator movies, my idea of having these cute mechanical like humans started to change. I am still incredibly fascinated by the development in robotic advancement and the thought-provoking question of how will we integrate these machines into our current society and can we live side by side with them.
This week, at Japan’s CEATEC tradeshow, NTT Docomo and NEC unveiled a Lithium ion battery that can be fully charged in ten minutes. The battery is currently only available as an external jacket that fits NEC’s super-slim Medias Android (Japan only) smart phones, hopefully plans are in place to expand the charger’s compatibility to other devices. Zach from Endgadget explains how the charger pushes a large amount of amps to get the battery charged faster as opposed to generic chargers that push a miniscule amount of charge to the battery. There has been some speculation that this massive push will affect the life span of the battery, but this has not been proven.
