Can you believe it’s already September?! The year seems to be flying by, although I always seem to say that at this time of year. It’s already time to start thinking about what to do for Christmas, what to serve, who’s coming over and the snacks and nibbles that are always around.

Epic Apple Doughnuts

I’ve been trying to get my household to let me make doughnuts, but have had no luck so far. I always get the “it’s too oily” talk, but they haven’t seen these. These billowy apple doughnuts from Helene at Tartelette look like miniature poofy morsels of joy to me.

Cinnamon Brown Butter Puffs

I don’t mean to sound too much like Paula Deen, but butter in moderation does make things taste better. Especially when it is brown butter dipped cinnamon puffs like the ones from Smitten Kitchen. They are called cinnamon brown butter puffs, because that is exactly what they are, light as a feather, puffs of baked dough, dipped in brown butter straight out of the oven and rolled in cinnamon sugar.
