Cyber, an OGSociety user, recently designed a mechanical stainless steel ring that displays the time. It has 3 dials that rotate around your finger, each displaying hour, minutes and seconds highlighted so that you have the ring on properly.

With the invention of analog and then digital clocks, it was only a matter of time before they were combined. Clock Clock by Humans is a mix of the old and new to create something totally different.
Tom Chung designed a clock that turns leaving work into the dying seconds of a basket ball game. All you have to do is set the timer and complete your task before the buzzer sounds! Sounds like fun, though it might get annoying if you keep resetting it for every little task.
It’s a beautifully designed clock though, it looks almost retro.

The 36th Avenue blog has a list of 25 handmade gifts that you can make for under $5, can you believe it, but what caught my eye was this clock that you could make with a paper plate. It would make a great summer time vacation activity with the kids over summer, and you can totally personalise it by using any of the brightly patterned paper plates on the market at the moment.

How accurate is your aim when you are awoken by a screeching alarm clock? That is what this alarm clock does; you can pretend it’s training for your double life as a spy, teaching you to wake up at the drop of a hat, not convinced? Well buy it anyway, because this alarm clock rocks! When the alarm sounds, a target flips up and to make it stop or snooze, you have to wake up enough to grab the laser gun, and hit a bull’s eye. Or it keeps on screaming.
Round clocks are so last year; and that is why this won the 2011 DESIGN AND DESIGN International Award. It’s designed by Vadim Kibardin and has been moved to manufacture and pre-sale preparation on the Kibardin Design website. This digital clock has only figures and each figure has its own self-contained power supply and independant control. It will stick to any surface and has a light sensor that will switch the clock to invert mode…making the figures white at night and black during the day.
