I love clean white contemporary apartments and I know they can seem stark & cold at times especially if not decorated with some colour. My own opinion is that they are a blank art canvas waiting for life to be added and it’s up to you the designer or interior decorator to fill them with warmth and character to bring them to life.

Giovanni Ambrosia has designed a contemporary version of traditional cattleman’s huts usually found in the high country of Victoria and the resort village of Dinner Plain, Australia. The house is perched on the edge of an alpine reserve and is just 10 minutes away from down hill skiing at Mount Hotham.

Robinson Road House
In Hawthorne Melbourne Australia sits a house designed by Steve Domoney Architecture. The house has been converted from a post-war brick bungalow to this beautiful contemporary dwelling.
The resulting designed house serves as a bridge between some older and newer ones that surround it, a truly self-confident structure that announces its presence without being bulky and obnoxious.

Modern Constantia Kloof House
This house located in Constantia, South Africa was designed by Nico Van Der Meulen Architects in 2012 and features mixed steel and concrete framing.
The owners decided to renovate an existing house and have been left with a masterpiece of contemporary architecture.

In California, situated on Russian Hill, there is a contemporary house that was designed by John Maniscalco Architecture, a San Francisco based architectural firm. This luxurious house is of minimalist and modern design with elegant lighting. The lobby takes the viewer on a journey from two storied and glass walled to open living spaces, the light gets brighter and brighter as you ascend the ladder to the roof viewing deck that looks out onto panoramic views.
