Get To Eat Your Beer Cookies

I think working at a company that makes beer cookies would be a dream come true for a lot of people. The Cookie Guild has started a Kickstarter page to help them fund their dream of providing great looking and tasting booze filled crunchy cookies.

Their idea is fresh, innovative and looks really tasty. Can’t wait to see these guys selling cookies at the next farmers market.

*See their Kickstarter page for more information on cookie flavours, ordering cookies, backing the Cookie Guild and what they plan to do next.

Summer Ice Cream Cake

Smack dab in the middle of summer, everybody starts looking for a good ice cream cake recipe, I think I found a keeper. Layers of chocolate ice cream and roughly chopped chocolate covered peanuts in a classic crushed cookie shell. It sounds SO good!

Samoa Bundt Cake

There are some cakes that just taste better with a glass of milk, and this is one of them. With it’s resemblance, in both form and taste, to Samoa Girl Scout cookies, eating a slice of this cake with milk is practically a requirement.

Probably will take most of the day to make it but Betsy from BetsyLife, claims it is totally worth it. Good enough for me, I can’t wait to try it out.

You can find the recipe on BetsyLife

Mason Jar Themed Birthday

When someone turns 90, it’s a pretty special occasion and should be treated as such. That’s why when Gretchen Brittain of Three Little Monkeys Studio was asked to organise a themed party for a lady called Hattie, she decided to use a Mason Jar theme. The cookies are from Krista from Cookies with Character, a former Walt Disney Animator.

Bichon Frise Boyfriend Cookies

Doggy boyfriend cookies

In an attempt to pick up the romance in her Bichon Frises, Boofwoof and Lulu, Missy from Pink Pistachio baked up a batch of these peanut butter dog biscuits and arranged a rendezvous in a patch of daisies. If the assignation was sabotaged by the heat of the day, that doesn’t matter, from the way those cookies disappeared, a good time was had by all canines.

Your dogs will be eating out of your hand when they see Missy’s recipe on Pink Pistacho

Yummy Lemon Melties

These lemon melty cookies are from A Cooks Quest via Closet Cooking, and were adapted from being flavoured with lime to being the lemon masterpieces you see before you now.

I much prefer the lemon flavour over the lime and you can find the adapted recipe on A Cooks Quest

Italian Cardamon Cookies

These delicate little cardamon puffs were inspired by Padma Lakshmi’s book and a trip to bookstores in New York. Il pranzo di Babette, or Babette’s Feast, has a gorgeous recipe for cardamon cookies on her site that look crispy and delicious.

The complete recipe is available, in Italian, on Il pranzo di Babette

Pepparkakor Swedish Cookies

A couple of weeks ago I had my first taste of Swedish ginger cookies, they are crispy, if you like that kind of thing, gingery beautiful yummy bits of baked goodness. Daune Pitman from Tasty Kitchen has the recipe for Pepparkakor from the story of Pippi Longstocking.

Pippi tends to do things in a fairly theatrical way, what do you expect from a girl called “Pippi Longstocking”, she is so theatrical, that she rolls her dough out on the floor because she makes five hundred cookies at a time. Makes you feel just a little inadequate. [Read more...]
