Sometimes the best designs are borne out of necessity and every now and again something comes out of research, the following creation is the latter. Richard Clarkson from the Victoria University of Wellington and along with some very inspired and talented colleagues, Grace Emmanual, Kali Russel, Eamon Moore, Brodie Campbell, Jeremy Brooker and Joya Boerrigetr, have helped in the creation of the “Cradle Chair”. Beautiful to look at, crafted from wood, I guess it wouldn’t look out-of-place in some upmarket designer home but the chair was actually created for research into Autism and children with Rhythmic Movement Disorder (RMD).
