Betty Crocker Breakfast Cupcakes

Before Martha Stewart came along, Betty Crocker ruled the Kitchen and in many ways she still does. She certainly does with these breakfast cupcakes. Made in a muffin pan, the breakfast cupcakes are perfect for making many single servings of bacon and eggs at once, or for making a special breakfast for mom on Mother’s day.

Package Food In A Glass Jar

There are so many different ways of packaging food these days that it’s hard to decide which one to choose, especially as favours or little gifts from your kitchen, but my favourite so far has to be in a jar. It’s practical, reusable, recyclable and best of all it looks great. So I thought I would show you a few ideas for putting all sorts of food in a jar, from cheesecakes, to cakes, to cup cakes. You can place or bake anything in a jar!

Lasagna Cupcakes

I have the feeling you could put just about anything in a cupcake tray and it would automatically turn out delicious. It must be some kind of law of the kitchen, like the law that says buttered toast will always land buttered side down on your cream shag pile rug.

Charly’s Angelic Bakery – Cape Town

2 tier smooth dark ganache with white lace and white roses

In the centre of Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world and overlooked by the famous Table Mountain sits Charly’s Bakery. Charly’s Bakery is a business started by a family because of their love of feeding people, it has moved around through the years, to finally end up on Canterbury street where they serve up tasty tarts, creepy cakes and cupcakes to die for. The family’s inspiring story is now a reality series on South African local television that follows Charly’s Cake Angels and their Oopa Loompas, as their staff have been nicknamed. A word of warning, their fare is supposed to be dangerously addictive, you might end up changing life plans just to be able to patronize this little piece of baking heaven in Cape Town.

Cinco de Mayo Baby!

Cinco de Mayo, not to be confused with the Mexican Independence Day which is on the 16th of September, is a celebration of the unlikely victory of Mexico over the French. Just think if they didn’t win, South America might have been speaking French and eating baguettes instead of churros! (Which are divine BTW).

So if you have a Cinco de Mayo celebration, wedding/ birthday whatever!, planned, it’s gotta look something like this:
