What exactly does one man do with 100 pencils? Well, if that man is Chris LaPorte, you draw a life-sized portrait for the ArtPrize competition. In 2010, he submitted a life-sized drawing called Cavalry and won first prize. In 2012 he is working on submitting a drawing of a photograph he found in his mother’s basement.
Miguel Endara’s father created these drawing called “Hero” from 3.2 million ink dots. The video below is the process from start to finish. Just the idea of, making that amount of dots, by hand, makes my head spin, the dedication and artistry to arrange those dots into comprehensible images is mind-boggling.
When Adam gets bored, he amuses himself by drawing his friends’ pictures. Unfortunately for his friends and forutnately for us, he takes…liberties with the pictures and their subjects.
