Beautiful Prefabricated Homes

Portable pre-fabricated homes from Connect Homes

Sometimes the words pre-fabricated bring to mind horrible, boxy buildings that house official offices or temporary shelters. Connect Homes makes pre-fabricated homes, not only beautiful but easy to transport by using shipping containers.

By thinking out of the box, so to speak, Connect Homes has managed to have the first pre-fabricated home featured in GQ and other magazines, that’s how beautiful it is.

* You can find a list of 6 of the most beautiful pre-fabricated homes on Fast Co-Exist

Cardboard Guitars By Mister

When your husband loves something as much as Ashley‘s husband loves playing the guitar, it would make sense that he would want to share it with his children. Steve a.k.a Mister Make It and Love It, made these brilliant cardboard guitars for his two elder kids to strum on while he got out his own guitar. With rubber bands stretched across the body and neck, these guitars make enough sound to get your kids rocking and rolling all night long.

Ashley and Steve have been generous enough to supply the templates for the guitars along with full instructions on how to make your own cardboard guitars on the Make It and Live It site

Soda Pop Lamp

I absolutely love the idea of taking what you would normally throw away and making it into a functional piece of furniture or art in your home. So when I saw this, I was smitten! The lamp was made using discarded soda pop ring pulls, bent and manipulated to interlock with each other to  frame the shade. The site is in Chinese, but the pictures are fairly easy and self explanatory.
