Swiss Tarpaulin Handbags

Looking at the above bag, it’s easy to assume it’s made from buttery soft leather. If they were sewn in some generic workshop somewhere, it probably would be, but Freitag have a different idea of what to make handbags out of. They are a pair of Swiss brothers that started a company that takes old, used truck tarpaulins, the inner tubes from bicycles, airbags and car seat belts to make fashionable bags. Because their main component is used truck tarpaulins, each bag is unique. Patterned with the identifying marks on the tarpaulins which in turn become fashionable markings, like tattoos, unique to the individual.
