Las Paletas is little Capetownian company that makes gourmet, artisnal lollies. The company was started in 2012 by Diana Chavarro and husband Jason Sandell and inspired by Diana’s upbringing in Colombia. Their recipes are variations on traditional ice cream, frozen yoghurt and fresh fruit juice. All their lollies are handmade in small batches from the freshest seasonal ingredients.

When Camp wanted to show how pure their fruit juices are, they hired Brazilian ad agency, AGE Isobar, and AGE Isobar came up with a concept that took 2 years of testing and prototyping to finally come to fruition. AGE Isobar decided to make plastic moulds of the Camp juice boxes and grow juice box-shaped fruit.

Anybody who has ever been to Italy, knows that their gelato is out of this world. Put it this way, if the Devil came up to you and said, “Come over to the dark side, we have ice cream”, more than likely your answer would be, “Meh”, but if he said “We have gelato”, you’d be dancing on those hot coals faster than you could say gelato Italiano. Me, I haven’t been to Italy yet, but you know what I’m getting, first thing after I step off that plane. These Minifruits are an assortment of around twenty different fruits which have been hollowed out and the pulp made into an gelato and refilled into the fruit shells. The fruit is fresh, and the ingredients are simple and not overly processed, so they keep their flavours and colours, it looks delicious. I think, I’ll make ice cream this summer.
