Literal Green Lamp

This lamp by Suzanna Malinowski is a delightful fusion of pot plant and table lamp. The base of the lamp acts as the pot from which a plant grows, the plant then influences the light that is emitted, simulating the dappled shade of a forest glade inside your home.

Three Herbs Grown Together

Sagaform has designed a trio of herb pots where you can grow 3 different herbs at once. Made from stoneware, the pot has 3 hollows where you can plant herbs, vegetables or even small flowers to brighten up your kitchen. There is a small opening on the one side of the pot to make watering simple and quick. Sagaform has a single and a duo version of the same stoneware posts available as part of the range.

The Sagaform Herb Trio is out of stock on Amazon.com, but the single and duo versions are still available.

Double Duty Lampshade

I love anything that can serve double duty, like a table that folds into a partition, or a cell phone cover with space for your cards and ID. This lampshade from Czech designer Krystyna Pojerova certainly does that. It was developed with the modern desire to grow herbs in the kitchen. The lack of space meant that the herbs would have to be hung from the ceiling. Such an innovative design surely deserves to be put into production.

Wine Bottle Into Waterer Hack

This wine bottle hack comes from Lesley at Lettuce Share. She took a useless empty wine bottle and turned it into an Irish Sprinkler System for her plumbago. It’s a great way to use up old wine bottles that you might have lying around. Recycling and greening the Earth, brilliant.

Growing Strawberries Vertically

Spring is in the air, and thoughts turn to gardening and growing our own fruits and vegetable. But how do you do this if you have no space? You take a leaf from the Chinese and Japanese and build up, that’s what you do.

These vertical tiers for growing strawberries is the perfect example. The strawberries are grown in hay that is watered, which  provides nutrients as it breaks down naturally.
