Double Duty Lampshade

I love anything that can serve double duty, like a table that folds into a partition, or a cell phone cover with space for your cards and ID. This lampshade from Czech designer Krystyna Pojerova certainly does that. It was developed with the modern desire to grow herbs in the kitchen. The lack of space meant that the herbs would have to be hung from the ceiling. Such an innovative design surely deserves to be put into production.

Scandinavian Lakeside Getaway

This gorgeous little green house was converted into a lakeside getaway by architect Ville Hare and designer Linda Bergroth. It accommodates up to 2 people by night and serves as a retreat with the most amazing views during the day. Besides there being no bathroom or kitchen facilities, I see no problem with waking as soon as the sun rises and watching the animals come out to the water for their early morning drink.
