In the commune of Saint-Julien-en-Born, Landes (South Western France), Architectures Workshop Ferret brought to life the transformation of the elver (freshwater eel) restaurant. The ground floor of the building houses the restaurant and the upper levels are housing all of which stand between forest and the Atlantic Ocean.
A House That Fights Obesity
June 14, 2012 By Leave a Comment
You know that things are bad when you have to build a house to help you keep fit. An apartment building in New York, called The Melody, was designed to help in the fight against obesity.
The walls are decorated with murals of dancing figures and jazz is pumped through the buildings speaker system to encourage people to get moving and exercising. It also has attractively decorated stairwells and slow elevators to help people decide to take the stairs instead of waiting for an elevator.
TLC and WFUV.org have more information on where and how New York plans to fight obesity
