Ski Resort Themed Bar, Hudson Lodge

Hudson Lodge, Manhattan

In the middle of bustling Manhattan, is the city’s first ski-themed bar, Hudson Bar. The 1,500 square foot bar, located in Hudson Hotel’s private park, and decorated to transport guests into a winter oasis with animal hide rugs, wooden skis and sleds.

The menu is also ski-inspired, featuring a Hot Chocolate Bar with toppings like crushed candy canes, chocolate pretzel dust, burnt marshmallow and gooey cookie dough. There are beverages created by Steve Olson such as hot buttered rum and Aztec hot chocolate.

Sergey Semonov won the major Epson’s Pano Award for Amateur Photographer for his aerial image of New York’s Manhattan. The panorama is made up of multiple photographs taken on a  helicopter ride that were stitched together and flattened.

The Mark Hotel in New York City, has now added an attraction, they have acquired a fleet of bespoke Republic Bikes that are available for use during your stay. The bikes are painted distinctive black and white with a bag filled with picnic fixings from The Mark’s celebrated chef, George Vongerichten.

Donna Karen’s Manhattan Apartment

Donna Karen, the famous woman’s wear designer and perfume purveyor has allowed photographer Richard Powers into her Manhattan apartment. The photographs were originally for a Chinese magazine but where withdrawn after publication when images of Buddhist children and the Dalai Lama were discovered. These pictures even passed the censors and the faux pas was only discovered after the magazine had hit news stands.
