River Rock Boot Trays

Where ever you are and whatever the weather is, chances are at some point in the year you will need somewhere to keep wet rain boots from dripping onto your floors or tracking through the house. These boot trays are very handy and easy to make so that your floors stay relatively clean for longer.

All you need are river rocks and a couple of inexpensive shallow baking trays, the more worn the baking trays the better because that means you won’t pay too much for them.

4th July Barbecue Chicken

I am always searching for a good barbecue chicken recipe, so when I saw this recipe for chicken marinated in buttermilk from Real Simple and from Martha Stewart, I thought I might have found something interesting.

Marinading your chicken in buttermilk gives it a lovely moistness and the outside gets a lovely charring that you don’t get from oil based marinades.

These recipes from Real Simple and Martha Stewart would make great contributions to your next 4th July family picnic

Mascot Dog Jacket On Martha

Martha Stewart always has something handy for all parts of the family and home, but I love the little dog jackets she has on her site. They are modeled by her two French Bulldogs, Francesca and Sharkey and are from a company called Mascot. If you have a little time and know about sewing you can follow the instructions on Martha’s site to make a puffer jacket just like Francesca and Sharkey’s.

The Mascot jackets are available through the Mascot site

Betty Crocker Breakfast Cupcakes

Before Martha Stewart came along, Betty Crocker ruled the Kitchen and in many ways she still does. She certainly does with these breakfast cupcakes. Made in a muffin pan, the breakfast cupcakes are perfect for making many single servings of bacon and eggs at once, or for making a special breakfast for mom on Mother’s day.

You can get the super simple recipe on Betty Crocker‘s website

So I thought I would get all those crafty people out there, a couple of projects you could work on and plan for the up-coming Easter festivities.

We start with these gorgeous chick shaped cookies from Amelie’s House and were originally made for an Easter wedding.
