Nicholas Nyland produces brightly coloured sculptures made from paper, glazed ceramics, watercolours, gouache, acrylic, chain and grommets. He has a fascination for the life form and the will to decorate. Nicholas borrows freely from a gloriously visual culture, once describing his work as abstract but finding that the term was too wide and limiting.

Swan Paper Wedding Dress

Looking for something totally different for your wedding? Two Latvian students created this swan wedding dress made from thousands of paper leaves. This particular dress was created by 20yr old Dana Jasinkevica with 21yr old Dita Enikova for a fashion exhibition in the ‘‘Centre Gallery” shopping centre in Riga.

Toilet Paper Roll Mirror Frame

Recycling requires creativity and perseverance, and Cindy from Made 2 Style has both in spades. Using just the inner roll from toilet paper rolls, hot glue, a really inexpensive mirror an embroidery hoop and spray paint, she came up with this lovely piece of art.

Plant Brooklyn Paper Knives

Plant Brooklyn Paper knives are made to be used as letter openers or paper knives, but they are also literally paper knives. The blade is made from a fusion of 100% post consumer recycled paper and a clear 100% water-based resin made using cashew nut shells.

Yoshinobu Miyamoto Awesome Paper Craft

Japan is well-known for its paper craft, and Yoshinomu Miyamoto is one of the best paper crafters. Originally an architect and an architecture teacher at the Aichi Institute of Technology (AIT), Miyamoto construct paper models as opposed to the more traditional Origami that everybody knows of.

Miyamoto also designed the Bank of China building in Shanghai, and lists that as the project he is most proud of. [Read more...]
