London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics a display of strength, agility, skill and speed. For the games held from the 21st July to 9th September this year, London got a brand new stadium. The Olympic stadium will host the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as athletics and Paralympic games. The Olympic stadium has a capacity of holding 80,000 people and used 10,000 tonnes of steel, compared to the 42,000 used by Beijing for their ‘Bird’s Nest’. [Read more...]
