Italian sculptor Maurizio Savini is known for making art out of chewing gum. Yeap real actual bubble gum, I guess that’s why he has “Do Not Touch” signs on his exhibits. Now I can just imagine hordes of school kids descending on the exhibitions and stripping all the sculptures to get little pieces of bubble gum for themselves. Maurizio has been commissioned as stage designer by Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Salzburg Easter Festival as well as been awarded a Cité Internationale des Arts scholarship by the city of Paris in 2005. He has also held several dozen exhibitions, the most recent of which is in the Fondazione Pastaficio Cerere now showing till the 27th November 2011.
