The Machiavellian range of pure silk sleepwear and pocket squares is a fashion line gaining popularity through their Kickstarter project.
Gossamer Silk Vortices
For over 20 years Japanese artist Akiko Ikeuchi has been creating room sized vortices from silk thread. Ikeuchi first creates a frame of cotton thread before knotting silk threads to create a mesh that could take up to a month to complete.
The installations strike a fine balance between solidity and complete weightlessness and were on display at the Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo, but they can also be seen on Design Boom
Fig leaves, in wardrobe form
These are pictures showing the detail of an amazingly intricate wardrobe made by Tord Boontje, a native Dutch visionary of sculpture and design. The monumental fig-leaf encrusted doors open to show a bronze tree arching up and outward against the background of a peaceful landscape in silk.
