Star Wars Snowflakes

These Star Wars snowflakes would be great as a project to hang around the house, showing just the right amount of geekiness your family has. The snowflakes are great for keeping the kids occupied while they are home for the holidays, keeps them (and you) out of trouble long enough for it to get dark outside.

If you don’t have snow to go sledin, these snowflakes can be hung around the house for that wintery feeling, without the cold and slippery side-walks that usually come with winter. So if Mother Nature doesn’t oblige with a winter wonderland, you can create one with paper, scissors and a lot of time.

Star Wars Digitally Re-mastered and Re-released

In 1977 a movie was released that captured the imagination of every little boy (and girl?) that watched it. It followed a group “good” soldiers fighting the never ending fight against evil, with a beautiful princess to throw a bit of romance into the story (we won’t mention the love triangle that involved her brother). The movie was Star Wars and it was so successful that after the first and second trilogies and the prequel, it raked in about US$4.41 million dollars at the box office, not including merchandising. In 2004, the movies were re-released with some tweaks and CGI characters that most of the die hard fans were not impressed with. But, thirty four years later, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment have caved in to overwhelming demand from fans to release a digitally re-mastered version of the original 1977 movie on Blu-Ray.

R2-D2 Home Planetarium

Everybody loves a little Star Wars. At least I do. Sega Toys has released a series of home planetariums, and one of the latest (and greatest, in our opinion) is this one. Can you imagine having this sitting in your living room. When guests come over for dinner, they ask what it is…and you oh so casually turn off the lights, turn on R2D2 and bam! You have the cosmos swirling above your heads and your guests writhing  in jealousy! Yes, you need this in your home to impress your friends…and to teach your kids to appreciate astronomy, of course.

Robot tea eggPeeka boo!

Do you love tea? Any tea, Earl Grey, Darjeeling, Rooibos, Chai? And are you a serious nerd? As in you can totally relate to any character in Star Trek and  Star Wars?

Do Mathematical equations keep you up at night… in a good way? If you answer any of  the above in the affirmative…then I have a treat just for you. A robot tea egg. He will keep his position by clutching the edge of your cup with his robot hands, and allow you to make sure your tea is water weak or strong enough to melt your teaspoon.
