I’ve heard of vegetables in desert cakes before, like carrot cakes and potato cakes, but only a few times have I heard of beetroot in a cake, and if there was one cake I would want to try it would be this chocolate beetroot cake. Moist and sweet without being cloying, with the perfect shade of pink frosting. Delicious.

For all those people out there, myself included, who live in an apartment there is one thing (well actually quite a few things, but that let’s save that for another time) that I always miss terribly, a lovely healthy garden to run around in. I miss the feeling of having the green grass between my toesies, or watching the trees sway from side to side when the wind picks up.
Oh well I guess in a case like this the only thing left to do is to move, or even better, get myself a balcony garden. Something not too big, just big enough that it can fit onto my balcony & so it can have more than 1 plant in it, but also it has to be small enough so that come winter I can safely move my babies indoors to share in the glorious wonder of that phenomena called central heating.
