Deal With Not Quite Ripe Apricots

Sylvie is a lady after my own heart, I am a fan of anything dolloped with or sinking into thick gorgeous yoghurt (Greek or otherwise). Sylvie was tempted by a couple of early, not quite ripe apricots at her local market, however when she got the little darlings home, she found she was too impatient to let them ripen all on their own. So she helped the flavour along a little, by poaching them in white wine, a vanilla pod and honey.

Sylvie’s recipe for Poached apricots is available on her blog, Gourmand In The Kitchen

Scrummy Toasted Sesame Salmon

This recipe from How Sweet It Is is amazingly easy and tasty. It combines the Asian flavours of sesame oil, soy sauce and toasted sesame seeds to make a meal that is quick enough for a week night dinner. It would also be great to pair it with a fresh green salad and toasted rolls on a summer evening with a chilled bottle of white wine… Hmmm, this is making me hungry. I think I’m going to try this out this evening.
