The Topographic London Map Sink

Julia Kononeko has designed a sink with grooves that follow the street layout of central London. The basin is a three-dimensional representation of the map of London and is a tribute to the fact that England was the first to develop industrial products back in the 18th century. Julia is expected to use the outlines of other maps to make new sinks, provided they are of suitable composition.

Jack The Hand Cast Speaker

Usually concrete is a material used in the construction of boring structures like parking lots or high-rise apartments, but An/Aesthetic Design has elevated concrete to audio art form with the Jack Speaker.

The Jack speaker is speaker that is simple and edgy with its use of hand cast concrete as a main material. The speaker is tapered to the rear and the concrete has a cut-out to accommodate a wooden cylinder to raise the front of the speaker and to reduce vibrations.

The V4 House is a beautifully designed house in Sao Paulo. The public areas are completely exposed to the front garden while the private bedrooms are enclosed in a box that shields them from direct sunlight and makes them easier to keep cool.

Swiss Street Painting

Every year the little Swiss town of Vercorin invites artists to decorate their streets in any way they see fit. All in the interests of beautifying the whole town and promoting art that incorporates the entire village.

Lang/ Baumann was presented with the challenge in 201o and as a result they turned the streets that are lined with traditional wooden Swiss chalets, into brightly coloured geometrical masterpieces.

Odd Wooden Fabric

German artist/designer Elisa Strozyk has seemingly done the impossible and created wooden fabric. After months of research and testing, she did this by taking slices of wooden veneer cut using a laser and gluing it to a thin layer of fabric.

Orée Completely Wooden Keyboards

Original, rational, elegant, engaged – Orée. These keyboards were designed with those four words in mind. Julien Salanave, Franck Fontana and Christophe Della Signora collaborated to create keyboards that were different from those currently available.

Each of the Orée keyboards are crafted, polished, oil-finished and assembled by hand in the Orée workshop in southern France.
